Your information, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ASATWO PTY LTD (“ASATWO”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the Closetelle mobile application, website and related services (together, “Closetelle”).

Privacy contact: support@closetelle.com

1. Information we handle

Depending on the features you choose, we may handle:

Closetelle does not collect precise location, contacts, health information, financial information, audio, advertising identifiers or data for cross-app tracking in the current version.

2. Camera and photo access

Closetelle asks for camera or photo-library access only when you choose a feature that needs it. On-device background removal does not send an image to us. You control which photos are selected, and you can change system permissions in iOS Settings.

3. Optional local weather

When you tap Use weather in Today, Closetelle asks iOS for approximate location access while the app is in use. The app sends that approximate location directly to Apple WeatherKit to obtain current conditions and uses the resulting forecast on device to rank suitable wardrobe combinations. Coordinates are not stored, linked to your Closetelle account or sent to our Convex backend. A forecast summary may remain on your device for up to six hours to reduce repeat requests. You can deny or revoke location access and continue using non-weather-aware recommendations.

4. On-device storage and cloud copy

Your local wardrobe is stored in an account-separated database on your device. Closetelle’s cloud-copy setting is enabled by default so wardrobe metadata, garment images, outfits and saved generated looks can be backed up to our Convex backend. You can turn off future cloud-copy uploads in Closetelle’s Privacy & AI settings. Turning it off does not itself delete content already uploaded; use Delete Account or contact us to request deletion.

The original Twin identity photo and derived identity anchor are kept in the app’s account-scoped device storage. They may be transmitted for real-time processing when you request a Twin feature, as described below.

5. Optional intelligent features

Features such as garment recognition, Stylist responses, image clean-up and Twin previews remain off until you grant in-app permission for Google Gemini processing. When you make a request, Closetelle sends only the information needed for that request through our authenticated backend to Google Gemini. Depending on the feature, this may include clothing photos, wardrobe descriptions, your message, a person photo, generated previews and descriptions of visible appearance.

You can withdraw this permission at any time in Closetelle. Withdrawing permission stops future requests; it does not undo processing already completed. Generated output can be inaccurate and should be treated as visual inspiration.

6. Anonymous product analytics

When Share product usage is on, Closetelle uses PostHog to understand whether people complete onboarding, which features are useful, where requests fail, whether purchase or referral flows work, and where the app crashes. Handled failures may include a stable error code and feature source, HTTP status, retryability, a broad retry-time range, and whether a security or quality guardrail blocked, throttled or discarded a request or output. These fields describe the operational outcome, not the content that caused it. Screen and element autocapture, exception variables and session replay are disabled. Native crash reports may include the crash type, stack trace, app version, operating-system version and device model. Analytics and diagnostic events do not contain photos, wardrobe contents, Stylist messages, Twin images, generated output, raw error messages or provider response bodies, email, account ID, exact location or URLs.

PostHog assigns a random app identifier so events from one installation can form a funnel or retention journey. Closetelle resets that identifier when accounts change on a device and does not connect it to your Closetelle account. You can stop future analytics at any time in Settings.

7. Why we use information

We use information to:

We do not sell personal information and do not use Closetelle information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

8. Service providers

We use carefully selected providers to operate Closetelle:

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments and may operate infrastructure outside Australia.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep account-linked Closetelle cloud content while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Short-term security and request-limit records are retained only as reasonably needed for those purposes. Anonymous product analytics may be retained for trend and product-improvement analysis and are not connected to the Closetelle account you delete. Support correspondence may be retained while an issue is open and afterwards where reasonably necessary for records, safety or legal obligations.

You can delete your account inside Closetelle under Settings → Account data → Delete Account. This deletes account-owned Convex records, purchase-ledger records and stored images, the Closetelle account held by Clerk, and the app’s local account data. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription and does not delete purchase records Apple retains under its own terms; cancel the subscription separately in your Apple Account. Deletion from our active systems may be followed by limited residual retention in provider backups, security logs or records that must be kept by law, after which those copies expire under applicable provider schedules.

10. Security

Closetelle uses encrypted HTTPS transport, short-lived authenticated sessions, server-side ownership checks and account-separated local storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong device passcode and protect access to your sign-in account. Contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. International transfers

Our providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other locations where they operate. Privacy and data-protection rules in those places may differ from those in your country. We take reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements appropriate to the information and service.

12. Your choices and rights

You can review or change wardrobe content, disable future cloud-copy uploads, turn off Share product usage, deny or revoke approximate location access in iOS Settings, withdraw Gemini permission, remove Twin photos and delete your account from within the app. You may also contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Users elsewhere may have additional rights under local law.

13. Children

Closetelle is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 to create an account, and you must have a parent or guardian’s permission where the law in your location requires a higher age for independent consent. If you believe a child has provided information contrary to this section, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Closetelle changes. We will post the revised version here, update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects how information is handled.
